Sunshine returns as drier air slowly moves in

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (AP) -

We'll see plenty of sunshine this afternoon with just a few puffy cumulus clouds mixing in and there's just a chance for a spot shower, as an upper level system moves through. It will be a bit muggy but turn less humid as the day goes on.

Drier air continues to takes over tonight under clear skies. This sets us up for great viewing of the annual Perseid meteor shower which peaks early tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow will be delightful with sunny, warm and dry conditions. Temperatures will reach into the lower 80s wild dew points stay in the 50s. Friday will be just a touch more humid but still nice under a mixture of sunshine and clouds.

The weekend it looking like a typical August weekend with warm temperatures, moderate levels of humidity and a few afternoon and evening showers and storms on Saturday. Most of both weekend days will feature plenty of sunshine.
