SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After a very warm and humid afternoon which saw some locations rise into the lower 90s we are now seeing some showers and thunderstorms work through the region. The threat for showers and storms mainly last through late this afternoon but once the sun goes down we should see the threat start to diminish.
There still could be a shower later this evening but otherwise expect partly cloudy skies with lows falling back into the lower 60s.
Even though the cold front moves offshore tonight there is no cool down ahead. Temperatures will reach close to 90 Sunday afternoon. In fact, there will be a couple of days heat and humidity to start next week with highs reaching to 90 or higher! We could see some showers and thunderstorms once again as we head into Tuesday and Wednesday.
