Mostly clear, mild and muggy tonight

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Summer time heat and humidity has arrived and it is going to be sticking around for the next several days.  Hot and humid days and warm and muggy nights are on tap for much of this upcoming week thanks to high pressure off shore to our south and the jet stream lifting to the north

After a very warm and humid afternoon we will see mostly clear skies tonight.  A mild and muggy night is on the way as temperatures fall back into the mid 60s.  Monday features mostly sunny skies but it is another hot and humid day with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and dew points in the mid to upper 60s.  If you are going to be working outdoors be sure to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.

Much of the upcoming week will feature partly to mostly sunny skies as well as hot and humid conditions. We will also introduce the chance for scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms almost every afternoon from Tuesday lasting right on into the end of the week. It sure looks like air conditioners will be working overtime this week.
