It looks like we will continue to wait for our first official heat wave of the season (not many are complaining!). The high at Westover fell just short of 90 degrees today so once again we just miss making it to official heat wave status as defined by the NWS.
In fact, going forward there's no sign of any more 90 degree heat anytime soon. Overnight, southerly flow and weak lift will help transport a few light showers over us late into Thursday morning. They will be scattered in coverage and mainly west in our area. Low clouds give way to a sun/cloud mix tomorrow. It's humid again but with a later start to the sunshine, temperatures won't be as warm with highs in the middle 80s.
As a slow-moving front approaches and moves over us Friday, cloudiness and a good chance for some downpours with a very tropical feel are expected. The rain looks heaviest Friday afternoon into the evening when some flash flooding is possible.
The front weakens and washes out just to our east over the weekend but close enough now that a lot of mugginess and a good chance for afternoon showers and storms will be kept in the forecast both days.
