SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It looks like temperatures may be running a few degrees cooler over the next couple of days but it will be the middle of next week before we finally start to see a break in the humidity.
As a slow-moving front approaches and moves over us today, cloudiness and a good chance for some downpours with a very tropical feel are expected. The rain looks heaviest at times this morning into the mid-day when some street and poor drainage flooding is possible. The steady rain will taper to scattered showers this afternoon but it is also possible that we manage to see a little bit of sunshine.
Over the weekend, we will see partly sunny skies Saturday with just a slight chance for a shower now. It will feel slightly less humid too. But the tropical feel returns Sunday as moisture from a wave of low pressure out over the Atlantic gets sent our way. Skies become mostly cloudy on Sunday and there is the chance for a few showers and possibly a thunderstorm.
A cold front coming through on Tuesday brings some showers and thunderstorms but it will also bring relief from the humidity as we move into the middle of the week.
