A Springfield man died after being stabbed on High Street Saturday night and police say they are still investigating what happened.
21-year-old, David Steven Guasp, of 92 High Street has been identified as the victim.
Springfield police Sgt. John Delaney confirmed his identity with Western Mass News Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to that High Street location around 7:00 p.m. for calls of a domestic incident.
Lt. Brian Keenan confirmed with our crew on scene that victim had been stabbed in the abdomen.
By about 8:00 p.m. Guasp was pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center.
Sgt. Delaney says, "Detectives have been working around the clock under Captain Trent Duda following leads."
Police have not been able to determine a motive yet and report the area is known for gang activity.
The incident remains under investigation.
