SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The calendar may say that it is late August but it is going to start to feel like mid July as high pressure off the coast and the jet stream lifting to the north brings in hot and more humid conditions for much of this week.
Expect partly sunny skies this afternoon with the slight chance for a scattered shower this afternoon. Most areas will stay dry and I certainly would not cancel any outdoor plans. Highs today top out in the low to mid 80s but it will feel more humid as dew points climb into the lower 60s. A partly cloudy, mild and muggy night on the way tonight with lows falling back into the lower 60s. There could be some patchy fog as we head toward dawn tomorrow.
Heat and humidity builds in as we start the new work week with temperatures approaching the lower 90s by mid week with dew points in the mid 60s. There is the chance for afternoon shower or thunderstorm by Thursday and Friday.
