The 18th Annual Bishop Naylor Community Day Festival kicked off today in Springfield.
The program began at 1 p.m. with the reading of the Mayoral Proclamation from the City, The Resolution from the House of Representatives and the Citation from the City Council Chambers.
The Holy Redeemer Cathedral Family held the event to celebrate Bishop Naylor.
"This is wonderful," Naylor said. "We have a lot of positive things going on around the city today in Springfield. I'm glad and I appreciate that people took the time to celebrate today."
Naylor held a community prayer hour at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.
