SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After a few days of chilly and damp condition across the region conditions will continue to improve as high pressure slowly takes hold. Temperatures will gradually moderate a few degrees each day right into mid-week.

After a breezy and cool afternoon we have a chilly night on the way once again tonight as with partly cloudy skies lows will fall back into the upper 30s to around 40. It will not be as breezy tonight as winds will diminish slightly later tonight. Temperatures will moderate a it more as we start the new work week as highs tomorrow rise into the lower 60s with a mix of sun and clouds.

Much of this week is looking seasonable with a fair amount of sunshine. In fact we could touch 70 on Wednesday before cooler temperatures arrive late this week. It looks like our next chance for rain will come on Friday.

Hurricane Joaquin: As of 8pm Sunday Joaquin remains a Category 2 hurricane with top winds of 100 mph. He is moving away from the island of Bermuda to the N/NE at 14 mph. He  will pass well out-to-sea and will have NO impact on our weather here in western Mass! He will likely bring heavy rain and damaging winds to Bermuda through Monday morning.
