It will be another beauty today as our string of nice, fall days continues! It will end up a few degrees cooler than yesterday with a bit of fall chill in the air but with full sunshine it will be a classic October day. Temperatures will still reach into the middle 60s which is right about where we should be for this time of air.
Clouds will be on the increase overnight as a warm front pushes our way. This front will bring a few showers to western Mass by tomorrow morning. In fact, tomorrow continues to look unsettled and rather tropical with a gusty breeze and a bit of mugginess. It's not going to be a washout but you'll need the umbrella on stand by all day. A cold front will move through late in the day with some additional rainfall so things look a bit damp for any high school football games. The rain will be winding down around game time, tomorrow evening. Most of western Mass. will pick up about 1/4" to 1/2" of rain.
This front will remain progressive or fast moving, which is great news for the long Columbus Day weekend. The entire weekend it looking dry and seasonable with a nice moderating trend by the holiday. Saturday will be a bit breezy and cool but with full sunshine! After a frost start Sunday morning with lows near freezing, temperatures will bounce back quickly by the afternoon. By the holiday itself readings will be well into the 70s as a southerly flow takes hold.
Mother Nature's Cascade of colors will be in full swing this weekend across central Vermont and New Hampshire. It's starting to become a pretty good show around here as well as moderate color begins to intrude the landscape of western Mass as well. Get out and enjoy this week. It will be autumn at it's finest!
Have a great Thursday!
