Officers with the Springfield police department are investigating an overnight shooting that sent a man to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
The incident occurred at 126 Miller Street just after 11 o'clock Saturday night.
Springfield police Lt. Richard LaBelle told Western Mass News the victim suffered "three gunshot wounds" and was rushed to Baystate Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
He is expected to survive.
Officers found him suffering from his injuries in a doorway of an apartment complex at that Miller Street address.
Police also noted that a passing vehicle was struck by a bullet, but there were no related injuries reported.
At this time police have not yet identified any suspects.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Springfield police department.
