SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Today is shaping up to be a rather mild day with temperatures running some ten degrees above normal for this time of year. Enjoy it while it lasts though as the Fall chill returns tomorrow.
A warm front lifting to our north will bring in some warmer air today but clouds will be on the increase. There is the chance for showers as we go through the afternoon out ahead of a cold front. Highs today will top out in the upper 60s to around 70. Clouds will stick around through the evening but skies will gradually clear as the cold front pushes to our east. Lows tonight will fall into the upper 30s to around 40.
As high pressure builds in tomorrow the sun returns but the breeze picks up as well. Highs tomorrow will be much cooler than today only topping out in the lower 50s. Winds will diminish Friday night and temperatures will quickly fall into the mid to upper 20s.
Skies remain mostly sunny for Saturday though another approaching cold front could bring a few showers Saturday night into Sunday morning. Highs this weekend top out in the mid to upper 50s on Saturday and upper 50s to around 60 on Sunday.
