The rain has moved out, for now, and the sun is shining! We picked up 2-3" or rain across the area but now we are looking good! It's nice and warm too. Temperatures are in the lower 70s. The record high for today October 29th, is 74 set in 1946 (West over A.R.B. in Chicopee)
We're not quite out of the woods in terms of the rain just yet. A cold front will sweep through this afternoon with a brief shower or downpour between 1PM - 3PM. Temperatures will fall quickly into the upper 50s later this afternoon then readings will cool slowly overnight as winds shift into the west. Temperatures by morning will fall into the lower 40s. Tomorrow will be bright but breezy and cool. The fall feel will be back but nothing usual with temperatures in the 50s.
It will stay on the cool side through the weekend. Temperatures will be very seasonable to end and start the months. Halloween will feature mostly sunny skies and lighter winds. It will be dry and cool for Trick-or-Treaters. As the kids head out Saturday evening temperatures will be falling through the 40s. Skies will be clear and winds will be very light. As a weak weather system moves our way for the second half of the weekend skies will become mostly cloudy, There may be a sprinkle or light shower however most of Sunday will be dry and there will still be a bit of sunshine mixed in as well.
By the way, don't forget to set your clocks back one hour Saturday night. This means we gain and extra hour of sleep but it also means the sun will be setting early! Sunset Sunday is at 4:44. The bright side is that the sun will be coming up early as well. The sun comes up Sunday morning at 6:23.
The first week of November may end up being rather mild! An area of high pressure may set up off shore. If this is the case we can expect unusually warm temperatures and mainly dry conditions! We may see temperatures into the 60s and 70s! A good 10 to 20 degrees above normal.
