November's throwback to September continues

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

With high pressure continuing to build off shore and the jet stream lifting into southern Canada, temperatures will remain 10-20 degrees above normal through Friday. (Average high 54)

This afternoon will feature lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Yesterday we topped off in the low to mid 70s and we should make a run at 70 again today! It will feel more like late September!

Morning low clouds will give way to sunshine tomorrow. Some high clouds will move in during the afternoon but the mild temperatures will stick around with temperatures back near 70.  A cold front will approach western Mass on Friday however out ahead of the front it will become windy and even warmer.  Temperatures on Friday will likely push into the lower 70s despite some cloud cover. The record high on Friday is 72 set in 1959 and it just may go down. This front does not have much moisture with it so we're only expecting a shower or two mainly in the afternoon or evening.

The front will actually move through early Saturday morning. This will bring back the fall, November feel. Temperatures on Saturday will still reach near 60 but then fall off during the afternoon. Sunday will be brighter but cooler. Temps. will stay in the 50s.

It looks as though conditions moderate once again next week. Readings may run above normal for most of the week.
