SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - After a week that saw temperatures well above normal and a new record high of 74 yesterday we are about to get a return of Fall temperatures. We go from the 60s and 70s back into the 50s this weekend.
A cold front moving east of the region will turn the winds to the northwest this weekend. Today will feature a mix of sunshine and clouds. A breezy and cool afternoon is on the way with highs topping out in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will ease slightly tonight but there will still be a slight breeze out there. Temperatures will fall into the middle 30s tonight under partly cloudy skies.
Sunday features plenty of sunshine but it will be another breezy afternoon and even cooler than today. Highs tomorrow top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s. The breeze will diminish Sunday night as high pressure builds into the northeast.
There is a slight warming trend on the way for next week. While we are not looking at the 70s making a return we will see highs rising into the lower 60s by Wednesday.
