SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A ridge of high pressure making its way through the region means a return to sunshine this afternoon but it will be breezy and cool. There is a gradual warming trend headed our way through the middle of the work week.
Today features plenty of sunshine but it will be another breezy afternoon and even cooler than yesterday. Highs today top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s with northwesterly winds between 5-15 mph. The breeze will diminish Sunday night as high pressure moves off the coast but with clear skies and light winds temperatures drop off quickly and bottom out in the mid to upper 20s.
There is a slight warming trend on the way for this week. While we are not looking at the 70s making a return we will see highs rising into the lower 60s by Wednesday. We could see a few showers around here on Tuesday as a storm system approaches from the south. Wednesday is looking dry but then another system could bring more rain to the region on Thursday.
