It was a day full of excitement for many parents and students in Chicopee at the first open house for the Pope Francis High School. The temporary location on Springfield St. will house students until the new school on Surrey Road is built.
"It's just awesome. They have so many other things that I haven't seen before because I'm in the elementary school that's also a middle school. So, like it's not that big. And this is huge to me," said Alanmah Brunt from Chicopee.
The open house gave students and their parents a chance to see the facility that will house the Pope Francis High School for the 2016 and 2017 academic year.
"It really seems like they're all excited i mean they all know both schools offer great programs and when they come together they'll offer even better programs," said Joe Brosseau from West Springfield.
Principal Maryann Linnehan says the school is hoping to have a freshmen class of 85 students.
