This afternoon will feature more clouds and scattered showers. A strong but weakening area of low pressure will slide into eastern Canada this afternoon dragging it's cold front across western Mass. This front will be responsible for the showers and a few downpours into the evening.
Behind the cold front a brisk, chilly feel will settle in for a couple of days. Temperatures tomorrow will still manage to reach into the 50s however another surge of cold will drop Saturday's temperatures into the 40s. You will notice the wind tomorrow and Saturday. Wind gusts could exceed 25-30 mph, so hold on to those hats! With this second surge of cold there may even be a few snow showers and snow squalls across the higher terrain late tomorrow into Saturday morning. In the valley there could be a few flurries as well. A coating to 1" is possible across the higher terrain!
Sunday is looking more comfortable with temperatures moderating into the lower 50s with lighter winds.
The Jet Stream will lift back into Canada for next week. This means temperatures will moderate and readings will be back into the 60s for most of next week. Might we see 70 again?? (average highs by next week are near 50) We could see temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above the norms!
