SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Showers moving through the region this morning ahead of a cold front that pushes through the area later today. Behind the front expect below normal temperatures early this week before a warm up just in time for Thanksgiving.
The showers this morning will come to an end and there could be some breaks of sun this afternoon. Another area of low pressure develops along the front as it moves east. That will bring some rain to the eastern part of the state this afternoon into tonight. Highs today top out in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Behind this front, a cold blast of air arrives tonight. Lows tonight drop back into the mid to upper 20s while temperatures on Monday will struggle to reach 40 during the afternoon.
The chill doesn't last long! We moderate nicely, with dry conditions in time for travel day Wednesday and Thanksgiving! The early call for Thanksgiving is sunshine with highs into the 50s!
