A bright but cold start to the holiday week

Posted: Updated:

Cold air continues to drain into western Mass today. This afternoon will be brighter but chillier than yesterday. In fact, today will end up being the coldest day of the season so far! Despite sunshine, temperatures will only reach near 40. It will be on the breezy side too so the wind will make it feel a bit colder! Be sure to bundle up!

The chilly air mass will stay with us through Wednesday, although tomorrow and Wednesday will feature less wind with temperatures slowly moderating. Readings should get back into the 40s both days. Travel Day Wednesday will be cool but dry so there should be no travel issues across the northeast.

High pressure will slip off shore for Thanksgiving and Friday and this will moderate things even more for Turkey Day and Black Friday. Temperatures both days will reach into the 50s! Thanksgiving is looking nice and pleasant with plenty of sunshine as well. By Friday we may be approaching 60! A cold front could bring a few evening showers but so far most of the day is looking dry.
