The weekend is looking mild and dry. It will feel more like late October instead of December this weekend. After some early low clouds and fog tomorrow will feature a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures reaching near 60. The mild temperatures stick around from Sunday too with a few more clouds but temperatures will be back into the upper 50s. Get out and enjoy the fine weather. It's VERY unusual to have a stretch of mild weather for this long in December.
A cold front will arrive late on Monday. Out ahead of this front the southerly flow will increases. The squeeze of mild air will cause winds to become gusty. As this front draws closer rain will develop Monday afternoon. The rain will become heavy at times and there may even be a rumble of thunder. We need the rain and it looks as though we could pick up about an inch of rain or so. Monday will be down right balmy with temperatures near 60!
As this storm moves out It will still be rather mild. There's not much cool air behind this system. This means we can expect more 50+ degree readings through the middle of next week. We likely won't cool down to more seasonable levels until the end of next week. However, before this happens we could string together 8 days in a row over 50 degrees. This is almost unheard of this time of year!
