This afternoon will be fantastic! It will feel more like late October instead of mid-December! This afternoon will feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds.Temperatures will reach into the upper 50s, perhaps touching 60 in a few spots making for a nearly perfect afternoon! Get outside and enjoy it, if you can! Days like this in December don't come around very often!
Tomorrow will be a bit cooler with more clouds but still way above normal for this time of year, as temperatures reach into the lower 50s. (Normal is about 38-40)
A cold front will arrive late on Monday. Out ahead of this front a southerly flow will increases. The squeeze of mild air will cause winds to become gusty. As this front draws closer rain will develop Monday afternoon or evening. The rain will become heavy at times and there may even be a rumble of thunder. This system is looking very progressive so we're only expecting a few hours of rain. We need the rain and it looks as though we could pick up about an inch of rain or so.
As this storm moves out It will still be rather mild. There's not much cool air behind this system. This means we can expect more 50+ degree readings through the middle of next week.
As far as our record highs go, we could certainly make a run at the records both Sunday and Monday. Sunday's record is 59°, and we are forecasting temps into the mid to upper 50s. Monday's record high is 56°, and we are going for highs near the record. Although today may end up being the warmest day of the next three the record high is way up in the middle 60s so we will likely fall short. Regardless, it will be a very mild stretch of days. It's very unusual to have such an extended period of mild weather this time of year. Keep in mind, we should be in the upper 30s!
