Westfield boy on mission to spread holiday cheer

Posted: Updated:

A boy in Westfield is on a mission to spread some holiday cheer for a little girl who lost everything.

It’s a viral story that will surely tug at your heart strings. 8-year-old Safyre Terry lost her family in a fire. She's asking for just one thing this year for Christmas...cards.

A third-grader in Westfield is doing all he can to make sure that happens.

"i felt really bad for her, and she didn’t deserve it," said Adam.

Safyre’s father and three siblings were killed in a fire caused by arson. The little girl suffered severe burns and lost her right hand and left foot in the tragic blaze.

"This girl, she didn’t ask for much, all she wanted was cards," said Adam.

Adam rallied all of his classmates together to make the cards, wishing Safyre a Merry Christmas. His younger brother Jack even got out his markers.

"I wanted to make cards for her and make her very happy," said Jack Degray.

Adam says he can’t wait for Safyre to receive his package of cards.

"She’s probably going to be excited," Adam said. "She’s probably going to be happy that a lot of people did this for her."
