Christmas is just days away and the holiday shopping rush is in full swing! Buyers looking to stock up on last-minute gifts have some people scrambling through packed aisles.
They say it's usually the early bird that gets the worm...but that might not the case when it comes to getting your Christmas shopping done. Retailers are looking to lure in buyers with some tempting deals.
"It's very, very stressful for me," said Caitlin Delaney from Springfield.
Shoppers were busy on Saturday at the Holyoke Mall checking off their Christmas lists as they weave their way through the crowded mall.
"It reminds me of almost Black Friday," said Renade Wheeler from Springfield.
And while some shoppers are worried about their trip to the mall, others work better on a deadline.
Ed Drozdal from Northampton gets a group of his friends together every year for a shopping trip the Saturday before Christmas.
"We all have a good time, we all go out, we have a good time, we love it," said Drozdal.
If you haven't finished your shopping, you're not alone. The National Retail Federation says that 90% of shoppers still have gifts to buy. They say the average shopper has completed a little more than half of their shopping by now.
"I started very early like probably the end of October and I'm still here trying to get things done," said Delaney.
But don't be too tough on yourself if you aren't ready for Christmas. Experts say as much as 40% of sales happen during the last ten days leading up to Christmas.
