Record warmth to bring a 'spring-like' ride for Santa

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

It will be a balmy Christmas Eve! Temperatures will reach close to 70 this afternoon and remain in the 60s well in to the evening. It will be a mild ride for Santa! We've only reached 70 or better twice in December since record keeping began at Westover A.R.B. 74 years ago! The record high for today is 58! We will likely shatter it!

Christmas is looking beautiful! We'll see a mixture of sunshine and clouds with temperatures reaching close to 60. The record high for tomorrow is 63.

Saturday is looking cool but with some sunshine. Another wave of low pressure will move our way for Sunday and with it will come the milder temperatures once again. Temperatures will be reaching close to 60!

However we turn much colder for next week! Along with that some moisture will be moving up the coast. This could set us up for our first winter storm of the season!  Just a heads up for now so you are not caught off-guard with all this spring-like weather lately. We will have more specific details this weekend and for sure on Monday.
