A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect for all of Western Massachusetts from 8 pm Monday night through Tuesday afternoon. A storm system will bring a wintry mix of precipitation late Monday night into Tuesday.
Monday features lots of sun in the morning before clouds increase in the afternoon. It will be cooler on Monday with highs in the middle 30s.
A storm system will approach from the southwest as we head into Monday night. A strong warm front with a return push of mild air will bring in a round of snow late Monday night changing to sleet and freezing rain by Tuesday morning and over to plain rain Tuesday afternoon. The changeover will occur south to north through the valley. Timing still needs to be fine tuned but expect the morning commute on Tuesday to be impacted.
Wednesday will feature precipitation once again, but since temperatures are in the mid 40s, it will fall as rain and not snow or freezing rain.
Temperatures will be seasonably mild for the rest of the week, with a high on Thursday reaching the mid to upper 40s under partly sunny skies.
