First Warning Weather

Mostly Cloudy Wednesday, Freezing Drizzle Overnight

Posted: Updated:

We will see a chilly start to the day with temperatures in the upper and mid 20s. We will recover to the upper 30s this afternoon. Today will be a good time to do some more clean up with the ice softening a bit. Remember to clean the roof of your car before you hit the roads!

Some drizzle will move through the area overnight. The showers will be light with only about .1" accumulation. Our concern is temperatures will drop below the freezing mark, allowing some spots to refreeze overnight.

In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for Franklin County. That goes in to effect at 7pm this evening until 3am Thursday. Hampden and Hampshire County should stay above freezing.

High pressure begins building in to deliver a dry start to 2016. A reinforcing cold front moves in Sunday, keeping temperatures in the upper 30s for the start of the next week. We will stay seasonally cold and dry through next week.
