SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - We have another seasonable afternoon on the way tomorrow before the coldest air we have seen this season arrives for Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will begin to moderate by the middle of next week.
Skies become partly cloudy tonight and a cold night is on the way with lows dropping back into the lower 20s. Highs rise into the middle 30s on Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds. There is the chance for a few flurries late in the day and there will also be a bit of a breeze once again tomorrow with winds between 10-15 mph.
We are starting the new year on a tranquil note, but we'll all be singing the winter blues Monday as arctic air slides in for the first time this season. Arriving Sunday night with the passage of a cold front, we'll go back to school and work wearing full mid-winter gear as high temperatures sit in the 20s. Add a wind chill, and it's likely one of the 'top cold days' of the winter on Monday. We'll start the day Tuesday climbing out of the single numbers!
