SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Get ready for some of the coldest air thus far this season to kick off the new work week with temperatures running some 10-15 degrees below normal for this time of year. The good news is this shot of Arctic air will be rather short.
Skies will gradually clear out tonight as a cold front pushes to our south. As the front pulls away much colder air will work in from the north. Overnight lows will drop back into the mid to upper teens. It will be a very cold start as you get the kids off to the bus stop tomorrow morning and temperatures will only rise into the lower 20s tomorrow afternoon.
The coldest night of the week is on Monday night as temperatures drop back into the lower single digits. There will still be a slight breeze around tomorrow night so wind chills could fall below zero at times. Despite mostly sunny skies on Tuesday highs only top out in the upper teens and low 20s.
