SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - We managed to see some sunshine earlier today though the clouds hung tough this afternoon. There could be some drizzle tonight before a soaking rain arrives to close out the weekend.
Skies remain cloudy tonight with some areas of drizzle. We may see our low temperature early this evening as temperatures should rise overnight into the 40s. There is the chance for a few showers as we head through the overnight.
Sunday is certainly looking very wet with rain developing toward dawn. The rain could be heavy at times in the afternoon and there could even be a few rumbles of thunder. It will become quite windy with sustained winds to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. A mild day is in store with highs in the lower 50s. The record high for tomorrow at Westover is 50 set back in 1972 and there is a good chance that record will fall.
Early next week starts breezy with seasonal cold air. A low pressure area may bring some snow showers Tuesday night into Wednesday before even colder air pushes in.
