Winter weather advisories issued for parts of western MA

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties from 4AM Monday through 7AM Tuesday.

It's a cloudy start out there this morning. The morning commute should be OK as light snow develops this morning and will pick up in intensity by the mid to late morning. Snow continues through the day and into this evening so the evening commute will be affected. Snow begins to wind down by early tomorrow morning.

As far as snow totals through Tuesday morning we are thinking about 1-3" for the Berkshires, 3-5" for Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties and at least 4-6" as you head east of the Pioneer Valley.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties from 4 a.m. Monday through 7 a.m. Tuesday.

If the storm were to track 50 miles or so in either direction that would have an impact on snowfall amounts and this is still a tricky forecast so stay tuned for further updates. Highs tomorrow will top out in the mid 20s tomorrow morning with temperatures falling during the afternoon into the lower 20s.
