Increasing clouds but not as cold tonight

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

It was a cold start this morning but will still managed a comfortable and sunny afternoon thanks to a ridge of high pressure that brought lighter winds and seasonable temperatures.

High pressure to our south and a warm front lifting to the north will bring a few clouds tonight into Sunday but it will also bring another warm-up! Temperatures will reach into the lower 50s by Sunday afternoon with partly sunny skies. It will certainly feel like Spring is in the air!

The next cold front will arrive on Monday with a few rain showers but most of the day will be dry. There's not much moisture associated with this front and it will still be mild with more fifty degree temperatures! February will be ending with a spring-time feel.

If we hit 50 both Sunday and Monday, it would mean 11 days this month with temperatures over 50! Last year we only had one day above 40 in February!

March 1st, "Super Tuesday", will be a bit cooler and dry. No weather issues as you head off to the polls!  Our next chance for storminess will arrive along about Wednesday. However, this storm looks like another "inside" runner which means more rain, wind and mild temps!
