First Warning

After a windy night a nice day to vote

Posted: Updated:

Winds were gusty last night! For some March came in like a Lion with winds gusting over 50mph. Across parts of Franklin County and the hill town winds brought down trees and wires! The winds are a lot lighter now and today will be pleasant as you head off to the polls to vote. We'll see a mixture of sunshine and clouds today. It will be brisk and chilly with temperatures into the 40s. Winds will continue to ease as the morning goes on.

Our next storm will arrive later this evening. With just enough cold air in place it may start as a mix but will quickly go over to rain.  The bulk of the rain will fall late tonight into early tomorrow morning then it dries out with developing afternoon sunshine. We'll likely pick up between about 1/2"-1" of rain.

High pressure returns as this system departs but so does colder air. Canadian air will settle into western Mass on Thursday and will likely stay with us through the weekend. Meanwhile an area of low pressure will slide just off shore. However, it still looks as though the moisture associated with this storm will pass out-to-sea so we will miss a snowstorm. Temperatures from Thursday through the weekend will likely top off in the 30s before, what looks like a big warm-up for next week.
