Get ready for colder air to move into the region thanks to a cold front that is moving through shortly. That front continues to bring some showers this afternoon and slightly below normal temperatures for the weekend.
We saw a mix of sun and clouds today, along with a few showers in the Pioneer Valley. With the colder temperatures in the higher elevations, they had some sleet falling! Skies will clear out tonight as colder air pours into the region with overnight lows in the upper teens and lower 20s.
Right now the weekend is looking dry with temperatures in the lower 40s on Saturday and upper 30s on Sunday. Our nighttime lows will run in the upper teens and lower 20s! A winter chill will be in the air!
Over the weekend a coastal storm will take shape off the Carolina coast. With cold air in place, things will get interesting. At this point, plan on at least measurable snow Sunday night into Monday morning. You'll probably want to dust off the shovel that has barely been used this winter.
Temperatures will slowly begin to warm up next week with highs approaching the middle 50s and near 60 by late next week.
