Winds Calming; Bright Skies Expected Wednesday

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

The Wind Advisory previously in place for western Mass has expired, but we still have a chance for some gusty winds in to the early evening.

Temperatures this afternoon peaked in the upper 40s and will fall quickly overnight to the mid 20s. Any leftover clouds from the afternoon will diminish this evening, leaving us with mostly clear, star-lit skies overnight.

Tomorrow will feature a frosty start, but with high pressure moving over head, the sun will be out and the wind will be much lighter. Temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 50s by the afternoon. Tomorrow will be a really nice day overall – definitely the pick of the week!

We're back into the mid 60's for the end of the week, but the trade-off is a round of rain showers Thursday evening through Friday morning. Fortunately we will remain dry for most of Thursday.

We are watching a cold blast coming down from Canada to end the weekend into next week. Highs on Sunday may be stuck in the 30s with a few snow showers possible in the morning. Winter just doesn't want to go…
