Our weather pattern is about to get rather active over the next 24-48 hours with a couple of chances for snow, strong, gusty winds and colder temperatures. While the snow will not stick around it looks like colder temperatures will last through the middle of next week.
A strong cold front will move through this evening with a strong push of cold air. This may aide in developing a round of showers this evening. Colder air moves in behind this front and then a quick moving Alberta clipper will deliver some snow overnight tonight into tomorrow morning. Expect a coating to two inches for most with 1-3" likely in the high terrain. Behind this strengthening storm comes a lot of wind and a February-like chill! Expect gusts midday and Sunday afternoon of 40-55 mph! Some wind damage and scattered power outages are possible.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties from 3am until 11am Sunday morning. A High Wind Warning has been posted for all of Western Mass. from 5am Sunday morning until 7pm Sunday evening
Monday, another quick moving low pressure will bring another chance for some snow before we dry out as we head into Tuesday. It's cold with a wind chill on Tuesday and the winter chill lasts into Wednesday morning. After that, we'll warm up with rain approaching again.
