Winter is not ready to pack it in just yet. After seeing snow early Sunday morning and strong gusty winds Sunday afternoon another storm system will bring the chance for additional accumulating snow on Monday. A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for all of Western Mass from 3am Monday morning until 8 pm Monday evening.
Clouds will thicken up this evening and the winds will begin to diminish. Snow develops in the pre-dawn hours tomorrow morning (between 3-5am) and will overspread the region during the morning commute. Even though the strong April sun angle will allow for some melting to take place during the day accumulations will still run on the order of 2-4" in the valley with 3-6" in the higher elevations. Highs tomorrow only top out in the lower 30s.
Snow comes to an end Monday night and skies will gradually begin to clear. It will feel like mid-winter Monday night as overnight lows drop back into the mid to upper teens. Sunshine finally returns as we head into Tuesday but temperatures will still run well below normal with highs in the lower to middle 30s.
Temperatures slowly begin to rebound as we head later into the week. Under mostly sunny skies Wednesday highs will top out in the low to middle 40s. We make a run back toward the lower 50s on Thursday and Friday but we will also deal with the chance for showers.
