Temperatures will hold near 50 as steady rain moves in for the morning commute. Allow some extra time as traffic will likely be a bit slower due to ponding on roadways. Most of us will pick up 1/2" of rain by the time it tapers off midday.
A cold front will push the rain and clouds out, as a drying northwesterly wind takes over tomorrow afternoon. Clouds depart as afternoon sunshine develops.
Behind this front, a surface high pressure will settle into the northeast for a number of days lasting into the weekend. It's the reason for a 4-5 day stretch of not only very dry air, but plentiful sunshine. The jet stream will shift into southern Canada as a large dome of high pressure strengthens and builds over the eastern U.S. Thermometers will reach to near 60 Wednesday, 65 Friday, and into the 70s by Sunday! This will be our first 'outdoor' spring weekend this year. Time to make plans outdoors.
