It was a chilly start this morning with temperatures down into the 20s in many spots (29 at Westover) but readings climbed fast under sunshine and blue skies. Readings topped off into the upper 70s this afternoon. High pressure is drifting to our south and a southwesterly flow will take hold bringing in a two day summer preview. In fact, tomorrow will become a bit muggy as readings approach 80!
There's still an elevated brush fire threat into tomorrow as we remain pretty dry thru most of the day.
An area of low pressure will track into eastern Canada and bring us its trailing cold front by Friday night. Out ahead of the front, tomorrow will feature a few showers and even a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms. It becomes a bit muggy with dew points near 60. Let's hope we can squeeze out some meaningful rain. Most of the day, it will not be raining but certainly keep the umbrella on stand by, especially for the afternoon and evening.
This front should move out in time for the weekend. Saturday will start with a few clouds but the sun will come out quickly giving way to sunshine. It will be sunny, breezy and cooler with temps in the lower 60s. Sunday will start chilly with temps in the 30s but should reach near 60.
