May is off to a wet start, to say the least. Yesterday was cloudy and damp with showers. We kept that going into this morning and afternoon where we had some heavy rain move through. Most spots picked up a quick 1/3" to 1/2" of rain. While the rain has left for today, temperatures won't improve much into this evening. In fact, the weather pattern is looking unsettled with showers chances just about every day this week. We are not expecting any washouts but you will need to keep the umbrella handy all week long.
We'll stay in the mid to upper 40s overnight with drizzle and fog. Tomorrow's temperatures will be slightly improved, rising into the upper 50s to low 60s. That said, we'll still have to deal with a round of showers arriving in the morning before we start to dry out into the afternoon. The cloudy skies stay in place, but we could see a few breaks allowing sun to shine through.
An area of low pressure will approach from the Great Lakes and stall out just to our south by the middle of the week. The result will be more showers for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and perhaps into the weekend as well.
It will NOT be raining the entire time, and we may see a few peeks of sun as well.. This isn't exactly the way most of us would have liked to start May but at least allergy sufferers will catch a break with the lower pollen counts.
