Showers Coming To An End; Dry Start to Saturday

Posted: Updated:

Most of the day was dry, but showers and heavy downpours have moved thru the Pioneer Valley. We have a few more hours of the showers before it finally moves out of the area. Rain totals are generally under a half inch with this afternoon and evening's rain.

Skies will begin to clear out overnight. Lows tonight will drop back into the upper 40s to around 50.

This system will be long gone by tomorrow morning. Conditions for The Spirit of Springfield Pancake Breakfast are looking great.  It will be sunny and comfortable for the event. Temperatures will start out in the lower 50s and end up near 70 by noon time. You may need a light jacket early and make sure you have the sunscreen.

A strong upper-level system and cold front will move through late in the day tomorrow into tomorrow night with another round of showers and even a thunderstorm. Storms could contain gusty winds and small hail. Behind the front,  it turns windy and chilly for Sunday. Temps on Sunday will struggle to reach 60 with strong, gusty winds. There is the chance for a scattered shower in the afternoon. The cooler air and windy conditions will linger into Monday with highs in the upper 50s.
