Today is shaping up to be the pick of the weekend as far as dry weather is concerned. There is the chance for a isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon with a better chance for showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. Memorial Day is looking rather wet with rain likely throughout the day.
An Air Quality Alert will go into effect at 11 am for all of Hampden county and for central and eastern parts of Hampshire county and will continue until 11 pm this evening. Today will likely be the hottest of the last few days. It will be hazy and humid with temps reaching into the lower 90s and dew point well into the 60s. It will feel more like July instead of May. The record high for today at Westover is 89 set back in 1991. The weekend will be decent for the BBQs and cookouts. There may be a isolated gusty thunderstorm this afternoon and scattered thunderstorm are possible on Sunday so make sure you have back up plans to head indoors in case one of these storms finds your community.
It's looking like Memorial Day will be the wettest out of the long weekend days. Tropical moisture off the Carolina coast my get lifted into the northeast bringing us showers, downpours and heavy rain for the holiday. Keep in mind, Memorial Day is still a couple of days away so things can certainly change between now and then so stay tuned!
