Comfortable Overnight; Isolated Midday Showers Wednesday

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

This afternoon continues to be beautiful! We'll see plenty of blue skies and sunshine with warm temperatures and a nice breeze. Dew points have fallen into the 40s, much lower than yesterday's 60s!  The air mass this evening is right from Canada. Despite the cooler air mass, our temperatures still reached into the mid-to-low 80s.

The dry air will allow for things to cool off nicely overnight. You'll be able to shut off the ACs with temperatures falling down into the 50s.

Tomorrow will start off bright and sunny but clouds will build in during the morning as an upper level disturbance zips through. This system will help kick off  few showers or a brief downpour around lunch-time. But most of the day will be dry and clouds will gave way to late afternoon and evening sunshine.

A stronger area of low pressure will slide our way for Thursday, bringing cloudy skies and widespread rainfall into the area. There may be a rumble of thunder but we are not expecting any severe weather since we will be on the cooler side of this system. It will be a cool, muggy day with temperatures only in the upper 60s near 70.

A good soaking would be nice since we do have pre-drought conditions across western Mass. It's possible we could pick up about 1" of rainfall.

After Thursday's rain, we turn to another stretch of dry weather with lots of sunshine expected this weekend. As of now, the weekend is looking fantastic!
