After dealing with showers and thunderstorms last evening a fantastic holiday weekend is on the way with plenty of sunshine and temperatures warming by a few degrees each day. If you have outdoor plans this weekend just make sure to use plenty of sunscreen as the UV index will be high.
Skies will become mostly sunny this afternoon. It will be warm and dry but it will also be rather breezy. We will see westerly winds between 5-15 mph with some occasional gusts to 30 mph at times. Combine the breezy conditions with the fact that we are still rather dry across the region and that means the brush fire danger will be elevated this afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Under clear skies tonight and diminishing winds lows will drop back into the lower 50s.
Sunshine sticks around Sunday and Monday with highs in the lower 80s on Sunday and mid to upper 80s on Monday. By the way, it will be nearly perfect out on the Cape and across northern New England as well. It's looking like one of the best July 4th weekends in years! Much of next week will remain dry as it looks like our next chance for showers isn't until Friday.
