Happy Fourth of July! It's been a perfect day across all of New England – no matter where you are!
Temperatures reached into the middle to upper 80s this afternoon. Dew points stayed very comfortable in the 40s. We saw elevated fire danger today, but that will change heading into tomorrow.
Low pressure will pass south of New England tonight into tomorrow morning, bringing some showers to the region for a few hours tomorrow morning. The bulk of the rain will stay south of us but it will be close. We need the rain so hopefully the moisture field will overspread western Mass for a few hours tomorrow morning. We have a small chance for an afternoon thunderstorm as the system pivots out of the area. Clouds will give way to sunshine during the afternoon with highs into the 80s. It will be rather muggy as well. A dry front will move through in the evening with a stray shower or storm.
Behind the front, the heat is on for the rest of the week. Wednesday will be hot and dry with temperatures shooting into the lower 90s with heat indices into the upper 90s. Humidity levels will increase on Thursday along with the chances of a couple of afternoon storms. Temperatures Thursday and Friday will reach near 90 as well!
Our weekend weather features a rainy Saturday with a mostly sunny Sunday.
