It was a classic August afternoon! Temperatures reached the upper 80's along with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. It did become a bit more humid but still not too bad. We could see some shower and thunderstorms to kick off the weekend.
Skies will become partly cloudy tonight but if you have evening plans you are going to be just fine. Overnight lows will not be as cool as previous nights as temperatures drop back into the lower and middle 60s. A cold front will approach the area western Mass tomorrow, bringing a few morning showers then a couple of thunderstorms in the afternoon, followed by cooler, drier conditions for the rest of the weekend.
It will NOT be raining all day but certainly be weather weary and be on the look out for a strong to severe storms. It will be rather muggy tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 80's. The best chance for storms tomorrow will be from late morning through mid-afternoon. Especially from the Mass Pike south. The main threat with any thunderstorms would be heavy rain and gusty winds.
The front will push through western Mass tomorrow night then behind the front it will turn cooler and dry. With high pressure moving back in for Sunday we can expect another stretch of great August weather. Sunday will feature plenty of sunshine, dry conditions and a gusty breeze. The start of next week looks very nice too with a slow warming trend, low levels of humidity and sunshine. The next chance of rain will arrive Wednesday afternoon with a few showers and storms.
