HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

The Valley Blue Sox will have wait another night to see if they'll win their first division championship in franchise history.

Monday night at Mackenzie Field, they lost to the Sanford Mainers 11 to 4, in game 2 of the Northern Division Championship series. Win or lose, it's been a great season for the Blue Sox.

Team president Clark Eckoff says a lot of people played a part in the team's success this season, adding, “"I think it’s a reflection on our coaching staff... also its just the fan base we're drawing crowds of over 2 thousand people a night on average out there now and we want to be the Valley’s place to come out and watch a baseball game and affordable family entertainment"

The third and deciding game is tomorrow in Sanford. The winner faces the Mystic Schooners for the league championship starting later this week.
