A return of mid-summer heat and humidity

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

It was a beautiful afternoon with sunny, warm conditions and temperatures reaching the upper 80s. Changes are now on the way as the humidity builds in tomorrow and will likely stick around through the weekend and maybe beyond!

We will start off with clear skies this evening but skies will become partly cloudy overnight with lows dropping back into the lower 60s. As humid air moves in tonight clouds will continue to increase with showers, downpours and even a period for rain for the first half of tomorrow. There may be a leftover shower or storm tomorrow afternoon with some sunshine. It won't be quite as warm but it will be much more humid with dew points will up into the 60's.

As high pressure continues to build off shore the clockwise flow will continue to pump in the heat and humidity. In fact, the rest of the work week will be very "summer-like" with very warm, muggy conditions. There will be numerous shower and storm chances later in the week and into the weekend. Temperatures will likely reach over 90 a few days as well. We certainly need the rain and it looks as though we are going to get it.
