We saw some heavy rain earlier this morning, and now we're starting to see those isolated sprinkles and showers moving in this evening! Rain totals from this morning approached an inch in some areas, but most were under .50". Exactly what we needed as we continue to get back on track with the rainfall deficit!
Clouds gave way to a little sunshine this afternoon, but most us remained cloudy. The oppressive humidity sticks around through the evening as well.
Slightly drier air will work in overnight but tomorrow will be very HOT! Temperatures will reach into the middle 90s with hazy sunshine and some mugginess. There could be a stray afternoon storm with the unstable air from the humidity. With temperatures in the 90s and dew points in the 60s, it will feel like it's close to 100! The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for eastern Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties. That goes into effect at noon on Thursday.
The returns for Friday and lasts through the weekend. There will be numerous shower and storm chances as high pressure off shore funnels moisture up along a stationary front to our west. Temperatures will reach in the mid 90s on Friday and low 90s on Saturday before we cool off a bit by Sunday. Storms and downpours will be scattered Friday afternoon, becoming more numerous as we head into the weekend. We need the rain and it certainly looks as though were going to get it.
