Brutal heat and humidity continues to end the week...
Thursday we saw showers and thunderstorms that brought torrential rain to isolated parts of western Mass. A stray shower or thunderstorm remains possible overnight through Friday morning, but will stay very hit-or-miss. Overnight, we will stay incredibly muggy with temperatures and dew points in the high 60s to low 70s. Areas of fog are likely again and may be dense in spots.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for eastern Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties from 11am to 7pm Friday.
Friday will be another First Warning Weather Day with advisories for triple digit heat indicies back for the afternoon. This heat is dangerous, so remember to keep to shade and air conditioning if available. Also, drink plenty of water and don't over exert yourself. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms return in the afternoon with torrential rain and possibly some small hail and gusty winds.
We cool a bit for the weekend with more clouds Saturday and occasional showers or a thunderstorm, but we are still oppressively humid. A cold front arrives late Sunday, keeping rain chances around to end the weekend.
